Home Staging Vs. Interior Decorating: It isn’t the same thing.

Updated: Dec 19, 2020

“But home staging is just redecorating right?”

That is probably one of the first questions I hear when I tell prospective clients that I am not only a Realtor, but a Home Stager and Interior Decorator. However, they are not the same thing! Here is why.

Home staging is decorating, but a home stager is hired to turn a space into neutral ground. Home staging is meant to be done strictly to market homes that are listed for sale. My goal as a Realtor and home stager is to accentuate the positive features of your home, so that you can have a quick and profitable home sale! By following along with a few simple suggestions, I make on our first visit, I can create visual square footage and create an inviting space, that will help your home appeal to several potential homebuyers.

Interior Decorating is working directly with my clients to personalize their space into something they love and is functionable for its purpose.. My goal is to create a space that is unique to your style, but also functionable in daily life. Interior Decorators are trained to customize all aspects of your home to better suit your needs. From helping you choose the most durable floors, to showing you how to rearrange your existing furniture in a more functionable layout, we can help turn your existing home into your dream home!

As you can imagine, there are several benefits to hiring a Realtor who specializes in not only real estate, but home staging and interiors as well. I don’t want to be just be the person you call when you are thinking of buying or selling your home, I want you to call when your current home or office is just feeling “blah” or if you are feeling like your space is just not for you anymore, call me! I would love to give you a free in home (or in office) consultation. We can discuss all your options from buying and selling, to remodeling and/or redecorating.

Let’s face it, buying and selling is not for everyone all the time, but interest rates won’t be this low for long. Let’s talk about how you can still take advantage of these amazing rates, and turn your current home into your dream home, or at least, turn it into a more functionable space until you know it’s the right time to sell!
